Biography

Maurizio Gottardi was born in Adria on January 6th 1957.

After his graduation, he entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. There, he took a course in painting from Emilio Vedova and participated in the painting workshop of Carmelo Zotti and Ennio Finzi.

Having obtained his degree in painting from the Academy of Venice, he joined, for about two years, the Center for Mental Health and Drug addiction in Soave (Province of Verona); with Professor Vittorino Andreoli he worked in the creative and vocational research unit, in direct contact with psychiatric patients and drug addicts.

This human experience was continued in a more academic structure when he specialized from 1990 to 2000 in teaching to students with limited abilities in the public junior and high schools.

Since 2000, he is professor of Art History at the Adria Conservatory of Music (Province of Rovigo).

He lives in the Po river delta where he has his studio.
