City Library Innsbruck 2022

“if you want, i’ll paint a few pictures for the book presentation”. that’s what maurizio said sometime in spring 2022, when i had finished my book Briefe an Mimi and had received an invitation from boris schön to present it at the innsbruck city library. a few months later, on october 12, 2022, maurizio arrived in innsbruck from the po delta in his car. packed with about 20, mostly large-scale works that had a more or less direct connection to the texts. so many? so beautiful? what to do? “take what you like”. and since i was deeply impressed by everything, the next day we hung everything up and exhibited it in the extremely exciting event room of the innsbruck city library. on one side the trains go by, on the other the city traffic. maurizio’s works lived along with these urban speeds and at the same time brought everything to a standstill. the texts of Briefe an Mimi opened and closed this picture frame in which they could concretise themselves. war and love, staying and going, colours and black. it was the most beautiful of my readings so far. the fact that we had to take the works down again the next day gave the whole action something unique. thank you maurizio.
